Searches for Riqui Puig wife have increased as the Spanish soccer star has become one of the most recognizable European players in Major League Soccer. Fans who followed him from FC Barcelona to LA Galaxy are naturally interested not only in his performances on the field but also in his relationship status, girlfriend, family, age, net worth, Instagram presence, and life away from soccer.
The most important fact to clarify is that Riqui Puig does not have a publicly confirmed wife as of 2026. There has been no reliable announcement that the LA Galaxy midfielder is married. Puig previously made his relationship with Gemma Iglesias public in 2022, when the couple appeared together at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. Spanish publications including La Vanguardia and ¡Hola! reported at the time that Iglesias was his girlfriend.
Puig’s romantic life has attracted fresh attention since then. In 2025, Spanish media also reported speculation connecting him with influencer and reality television personality Andrea Arpal. However, those reports should not be confused with confirmation that Puig is married. Therefore, articles referring to someone as “Riqui Puig’s wife” without reliable evidence can be misleading.
Beyond his relationships, Ricard “Riqui” Puig Martí has built an impressive professional career. Born on August 13, 1999, in Matadepera, Spain, he developed in Barcelona’s celebrated youth system before reaching the senior team. He later moved to the United States and established himself as a major figure for LA Galaxy. The club currently lists him as a 5-foot-7 midfielder and Designated Player.
This article takes a detailed look at the truth about Riqui Puig’s wife and relationship status, along with his early life, career, family, estimated wealth, lifestyle, hobbies, social media influence, and future prospects.
Who Is Riqui Puig?
Riqui Puig, whose full name is Ricard Puig Martí, is a Spanish professional soccer player known for his technical ability, passing, close control, and creative midfield play. He was born on August 13, 1999, in Matadepera, Spain, and is 27 years old as of September 2026.
Puig’s soccer story is closely connected to FC Barcelona. After playing youth soccer with Jàbac Terrassa, he entered Barcelona’s development system in 2013. His technical qualities eventually carried him through the academy and into Barcelona B before he earned opportunities with the first team.
He made his competitive first-team Barcelona debut in December 2018 against Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey. Puig provided an assist after coming off the bench in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory. During his Barcelona senior career, he made 57 appearances across competitions, according to LA Galaxy’s career summary.
In August 2022, Puig left Barcelona and joined LA Galaxy. The move gave him the opportunity to take on a larger role and become a central figure rather than compete for limited minutes in Barcelona’s crowded midfield.
His life away from soccer has generated considerable interest as well. One of the most common questions is whether Riqui Puig has a wife. No credible public evidence currently confirms that he is married. His best-documented past relationship is with Gemma Iglesias, whom he publicly appeared with as his girlfriend in 2022.

Early Life and Background
Riqui Puig was born and raised in Matadepera, a municipality in Catalonia, Spain. Soccer became an important part of his life from an early age, and his technical potential was evident well before he became internationally recognized.
Puig initially developed with Jàbac Terrassa, where he spent several years before receiving the opportunity that would reshape his career. In 2013, he entered FC Barcelona’s youth setup.
Barcelona’s development philosophy emphasizes technical control, intelligent positioning, passing, movement, and decision-making. Puig’s natural playing style suited that environment particularly well.
Rather than depending on exceptional size or physical power, Puig developed his game around awareness, quick combinations, ball retention, and the ability to move possession through crowded areas.
His progress eventually brought him to Barcelona B. According to LA Galaxy, Puig recorded two goals and 10 assists in 56 appearances for Barcelona B before establishing himself around the senior squad.
His family background also contains a soccer connection. Puig’s father, Carlos Puig, played professionally in Spain, giving Riqui exposure to the realities of competitive soccer from an early age.
The younger Puig nevertheless had to build his own reputation. Breaking through at Barcelona is exceptionally difficult because academy graduates compete not only with one another but also with established international stars and major transfer signings.
Puig’s eventual first-team debut represented years of development. Although he never became an undisputed Barcelona starter, his time there gave him experience at one of the world’s most famous soccer institutions.
That foundation later became important when he moved to MLS and accepted a much larger creative role with LA Galaxy.
Personal Life and Relationships
The question “Who is Riqui Puig’s wife?” has a straightforward answer based on currently available reliable information: Riqui Puig is not publicly confirmed to be married.
One of his best-known relationships was with Gemma Iglesias, a Spanish social media personality. Puig publicly shared photographs with Iglesias during the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix in May 2022, leading Spanish media to report that he had officially introduced her as his girlfriend.
Iglesias subsequently became familiar to some soccer fans because of her social connections within Barcelona’s celebrity and football circles.
However, readers should be careful with outdated relationship articles. A report describing Iglesias as Puig’s girlfriend in 2022 does not automatically establish his relationship status in 2026.
More recently, Puig was linked in Spanish entertainment coverage to Andrea Arpal, known for appearing on La Isla de las Tentaciones. In April 2025, Telecinco covered Arpal addressing speculation about whether she and Puig had begun an official relationship. The coverage reflected significant public interest but did not establish that Puig had married her.
For that reason, neither Gemma Iglesias nor Andrea Arpal should simply be labeled “Riqui Puig’s wife.”
Puig generally attracts considerable attention when he appears socially because of his profile as a former Barcelona player and LA Galaxy star. Yet there is an important difference between dating speculation and a confirmed marriage.
As of 2026, the safest factual description is that Puig has no publicly confirmed wife.
Career and Achievement
Riqui Puig’s career began to attract international attention during his rise through Barcelona’s academy. His ability to operate in tight spaces and move the ball quickly made him one of the club’s more recognizable young midfield prospects.
His first-team debut arrived on December 5, 2018, in the Copa del Rey against Cultural Leonesa. Puig came off the bench and recorded an assist in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory.
During his time with Barcelona’s senior team from 2018 to 2022, Puig accumulated 57 appearances across competitions, with two goals and three assists, according to LA Galaxy.
He was part of Barcelona squads that won major domestic honors, including the 2018-19 La Liga title and 2020-21 Copa del Rey. Earlier, he had also helped Barcelona win the 2017-18 UEFA Youth League.
The defining change in his senior career came in August 2022 when LA Galaxy acquired him from Barcelona.
Moving to MLS gave Puig something that had often been difficult to secure in Barcelona: consistent responsibility.
He developed into a central creative presence for Galaxy, wearing the No. 10 shirt and becoming one of the team’s most important midfielders. His performances helped raise his profile among American soccer audiences.
Puig was named to the 2024 MLS Best XI, and LA Galaxy went on to win the 2024 MLS Cup. His contribution was particularly memorable because he suffered an ACL injury during the playoff run.
His recent career has also involved a difficult recovery period. LA Galaxy announced in January 2026 that Puig had undergone ACL reconstructive surgery on his left knee, just over a year after an earlier procedure.
That injury situation makes recovery and a successful return to sustained competition major themes in the next stage of his career.
Net Worth Overview
Riqui Puig has an estimated net worth of around $12 million as of 2026. His financial success primarily comes from his professional soccer career, including his years with FC Barcelona and his high-value contract with LA Galaxy. Since professional athletes rarely disclose their complete assets and liabilities, the $12 million figure should be viewed as an estimate rather than an officially confirmed amount.
| Net Worth Details | Information |
|---|---|
| Estimated Net Worth | Around $12 million |
| Net Worth Year | 2026 |
| Primary Income Source | Professional soccer |
| Current Club | LA Galaxy |
| Former Major Club | FC Barcelona |
| Current Position | Midfielder |
| Additional Income Sources | Endorsements, sponsorships, brand partnerships |
| Career Status | Professional soccer player |
| Financial Disclosure | Exact personal wealth is not publicly disclosed |
A significant portion of Riqui Puig’s net worth can be connected to earnings accumulated throughout his professional career. After developing at Barcelona and reaching the club’s senior team, Puig moved to LA Galaxy in 2022, where his earning power increased substantially.
His status as a high-profile MLS player also creates opportunities beyond his regular club salary. Sponsorship agreements, endorsements, promotional appearances, and social media partnerships can potentially supplement his soccer earnings.
However, salary and career earnings are not the same as personal net worth. Taxes, agent fees, living expenses, investments, properties, and other financial obligations can affect an athlete’s actual wealth. Therefore, around $12 million is best presented as Riqui Puig’s estimated 2026 net worth rather than a verified financial disclosure.
Major Sources of Income
Riqui Puig’s financial profile is built primarily around professional soccer. However, a player with his international recognition can potentially earn money through several related channels.
- LA Galaxy Salary: His largest identifiable source of income is his playing contract with LA Galaxy. Capology estimates his 2026 fixed gross salary at roughly $5.125 million.
- Professional Soccer Contracts: Before joining MLS, Puig spent years in Barcelona’s system and senior squad. Salaries accumulated across his European and American career form the foundation of his professional earnings.
- Performance-Related Compensation: Professional soccer agreements can contain various bonuses or incentive structures. The exact details of Puig’s private contractual bonuses are not fully public, so specific bonus amounts should not be assumed.
- Brand Partnerships: High-profile professional athletes frequently collaborate with sports, fashion and lifestyle companies. Puig’s visibility in both European soccer and the American market increases his commercial appeal.
- Social Media Opportunities: A large Instagram following can provide opportunities for sponsored campaigns and promotional partnerships. However, the value of individual deals is generally private.
- Appearances and Promotional Work: Soccer stars may participate in club promotions, commercial events and branded appearances as part of their broader professional profile.
The most defensible conclusion is that soccer remains Puig’s core source of income, with commercial opportunities adding to his earning potential.
Riqui Puig Luxurious Lifestyle
Riqui Puig’s move from Barcelona to Los Angeles placed him in two cities famous for sports, entertainment, fashion, and high-end lifestyles.
His social media presence occasionally gives followers a glimpse of travel, fashion, soccer events, celebrations, friends, and leisure activities. That naturally contributes to public curiosity about how the midfielder spends his earnings.
However, claims about celebrity mansions, exotic-car collections, private jets, or multimillion-dollar purchases should not be presented as fact without reliable documentation.
Puig’s most visible luxury is arguably the lifestyle associated with being an internationally known professional athlete. His career gives him opportunities to travel, attend major sporting and entertainment events, and interact with prominent personalities.
Los Angeles also provides a unique environment for athletes interested in fashion and entertainment. Playing for Galaxy puts Puig in one of America’s largest media markets while maintaining his connection to the global soccer community.
His public image often blends professional sport with a youthful, fashion-conscious lifestyle. Casual designer-inspired outfits, vacations, social gatherings and major sporting events have all contributed to that image.
Still, Puig’s career remains centered on soccer. His recent injury rehabilitation demonstrates that the life of an elite athlete also involves extensive medical treatment, physical training, recovery work and professional discipline.
The glamorous moments visible online therefore represent only one part of his lifestyle.

Riqui Puig has developed a public personality that extends beyond what fans see during 90 minutes on a soccer field. Here are some interesting facts associated with his life and career:

- His Game Is Built Around Technique: At roughly 5-foot-7, Puig is not an imposing physical midfielder. Instead, his strengths center on passing, movement, close control and creativity.

- He Has Played Soccer on Two Continents: His professional journey has taken him from Spain’s La Liga environment to Major League Soccer in the United States.

- Social Media Is a Major Part of His Public Profile: Instagram allows fans to see a different side of Puig through training content, match moments, travel and lifestyle updates.
These details help explain why Puig appeals to fans beyond supporters of Barcelona or LA Galaxy. His career connects European soccer tradition with the rapidly expanding American soccer market.
Future Prospects
Riqui Puig entered his late twenties with major achievements already behind him, but his future depends heavily on health and recovery.
- Recovery From Knee Surgery: LA Galaxy announced that Puig underwent ACL reconstructive surgery in January 2026. Returning to full competitive condition is therefore a central priority.
- LA Galaxy Contract: Available contract information lists his deal through the end of 2027, giving him a defined contractual connection to the club beyond 2026.
- Return to Creative Leadership: When healthy, Puig has the technical profile to remain an important playmaker for Galaxy. His passing and ability to progress possession make him particularly influential in midfield.
- Continued MLS Profile: Puig has already become one of the more recognizable European-developed players in MLS. Strong performances after recovery could keep him prominent within the league.
- Commercial Growth: Playing in Los Angeles creates opportunities beyond soccer, particularly for athletes with international followings and strong social media visibility.
- Long-Term Career Decisions: Puig will eventually have choices about whether to continue building his career in MLS, return to European soccer, or explore another league. Any specific prediction about such a move would be premature until the player or club confirms it.
At 27, Puig potentially still has several prime playing years ahead of him. His immediate challenge is less about proving his technical talent and more about successfully rebuilding fitness after significant knee problems.
Impact on Social Media
Social media has helped Riqui Puig maintain a direct connection with fans across Spain, the United States, and other soccer markets.
His Instagram presence reflects both sides of his public identity: professional athlete and recognizable lifestyle personality. Match photographs, training sessions, teammates, travel, celebrations and personal moments help followers connect with him beyond traditional sports coverage.
His Barcelona background provides him with an international fan base that did not disappear when he moved to MLS. Instead, joining LA Galaxy introduced him to another large soccer audience in North America.
This combination gives Puig unusual crossover visibility. Barcelona supporters may continue following him because of his academy history, while Galaxy and MLS fans know him as an established league star.
Social media has also played a role in public interest surrounding his relationships. Puig’s 2022 photographs with Gemma Iglesias were significant because they provided public confirmation of their relationship at that time. Spanish publications subsequently covered the couple extensively.
At the same time, social media can fuel speculation. A photograph, follow, comment or shared appearance does not necessarily prove marriage or even a relationship.
That distinction is particularly important when discussing the popular search term Riqui Puig wife. Reliable confirmation should carry more weight than online rumors.
